An enthusiastic crowd of women met February 20th at the Peachtree Restaurant in Murphy to elect officers for the newly formed TriCounty Democratic Women of North Carolina chapter.  This first governing board epitomize dedicated Democratic women in America from all walks of life.
 
Officers were installed by Mars Hill resident Shirley Roberts, 11th Congressional District Director for Democratic Women of NC.  Officers are President - Patricia Hardin, 1st Vice President – Nancy Curtis, 2nd Vice President – Nancy Helms, 3rd Vice President – Ann Rose McHan, Secretary – Samantha Anderson, Treasurer – Cecila Shook.  Jane Carver was appointed Parliamentarian.  Each woman will serve a two year term.
 
The lunch time meeting gathered over twenty women from Cherokee, Clay and Graham counties.  Membership includes women from each county and is sure to increase in number during this exciting election year.
 
For March the monthly luncheon will be held in Andrews, NC at Elsie’s Restaurant from noon to 12:30PM.  The business meeting will follow from 12:30-1:30PM.  All Democratic and Independent women are encouraged to attend.
